Safe Routes to School is an international movement working to make it safe, convenient and fun for children and families to choose healthier, active, and sustainable school commutes. For more information, visit the City of Palo Alto’s Safe Routes to School web site, where you can find “walk-and-roll” maps of suggested walking and biking routes to Gunn.
For those students who would like to take public transportation to and from Gunn, Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) provides bus service to Gunn students in the morning and afternoon with two special routes: 88L and 88M. The bus stops in front of the school. You can subscribe to the Bus 88 email list, which provides changes to the regular routes, for example on testing days. Monthly bus passes are sold starting in early September at the student SAC. Last year they were $15 a month. Normal youth fares are $1 per ride, and they accept quarters.
